We still make the Heat-troller mostly in Oregon. The original design “Generation 1” was made in Pakistan using people that Gerbing had used when they manufacture there. Odd, you can’t find a label saying Made in Pakistan but lots that say Made in the USA.

Is my heated clothing waterproof? Gerbing’s outerwear products and gloves are constructed to conform to the industry standards of waterproofing and will keep you dry. Gerbing’s outerwear is constructed with a waterproof outer layer, or face fabric.

How do you clean a Gerbing Heated Jacket?

Put in a few drops of mild detergent (like Woolite); for best results follow directions on detergent bottle. Gently swirl the clothing in the sink for a minute or two just enough so that it gets soaped up. Drain sink and use clean tap water to thoroughly rinse the clothing until no more soap suds are visible.

7 Volt rechargeable heated clothing tends to be the current standard. This is due to a good mixture of power, size and cost when it relates to heated clothing. A typical 7 Volt product will draw roughly 1-2 amps per hour of 7 Volt power to energize the heat system.

Tumble Dry on Low Heat. Do not iron. If the heated jacket does not start or operate properly with a fully charged battery pack, clean the contacts on the battery pack. If the heated jacket still does not work properly, return the heated jacket, charger and battery pack, to a service facility for repairs.

In most cases, heated vests require a minimum of 3 Volts (3.0V) and 2 Amperes (2.0A). So, if you have a power bank rated at 5.0V 2.4A minimum output, that should do the job. Just attach the battery and afterward plug it into any socket to power the battery.
