Old Navy’s clothes are often oversized—and not necessarily in a good way. Old Navy was known for being one of the worst offenders of wonky sizing, with most pieces for both men and women fitting larger than expected based on the size tag.

Ryan Knutson: Last year, Old Navy embraced this idea in a big way. It got rid of plus-size sections and started offering all its women’s clothes in a wide range of sizes, from size zero to 30. Suzanne Kapner: Old Navy set out to sort of rectify some of these issues.
Old Navy has produced Fashion Nirvana! Old Navy Tall line is made specifically for women over 5’10”. There is an extra half-inch in the shoulders, longer sleeves, longer length in tops, lower waist position for tops and dresses, a nice longer rise, a full 36” inseam, and proper shaping to fit a woman’s figure.
Most times, the items you buy there run a bit big. You can expect to get a small size clothing in Old Navy to become too big for you, and customers said, at Old Navy, it’s essential to try it on before you buy. However, The Gap store stays true to size better than Old Navy.
Gap discounts nearly everything in the store, threatening margins, and ultimately making shoppers less likely to pay full price. It also offers a lot of the same styles and quality clothing as Old Navy, but for a higher price.
On February 28, 2019, Gap Inc., announced that Old Navy and Gap Inc. would split into two companies, making Old Navy an independent company from Gap Inc. The move was designed to enable the consolidation of the company’s older brands, like GAP and Banana, with its newer Athleta and Hill City.

Do plus-size clothes cost more?
Plus-size clothing generally costs more, but “we don’t charge extra for tall versus petite, and tall takes more fabric as well,” Boorady said. “We’re willing to pay the money for it, but it’s a slap in our faces to say, ‘Oh, you’ve got to pay an extra $10 for that,’” she said.
Old Navy first started offering a limited plus-size collection in 2004. In 2018, it launched plus-size shops in 75 U.S. stores.
Are tall sizes just longer?
Tall sizes are made to be two inches longer in length than a regular-size, and the sleeves will be one inch longer.
Is tall the same as long for pants?
Pants & jeans are designated as Tall if the pant inseam length is longer than the standard sizes offered by most brands. The most common jean sizes are 32 & 34. A 30-inch inseam falls in the short, less common range while a 36-inch inseam is on the tall side of the less common range of standard sizing.
Are tall jeans just longer?
