Old Navy’s clothes are often oversized—and not necessarily in a good way. Old Navy was known for being one of the worst offenders of wonky sizing, with most pieces for both men and women fitting larger than expected based on the size tag.
Though similar, the Old Navy vs Gap debate is settled with their differences. Old Navy is usually the one with the bigger store square feet, while if you walk into a Gap store, you’ll feel more like you are in a boutique. You can tell some of these differences as soon as you walk into the stores.
To make their customers feel better about themselves, Old Navy increases the waist size of their pants. When Abram Sauer tested some common brands of pants a few years back, he found that the Old Navy slacks measured a full 5 inches bigger than the label!
Old Navy to scale back inclusive sizing in stores, less than a year after launch. On its May 26 earnings call, Gap Inc. announced its decision to scale back the groundbreaking accessibility of inclusive sizes launched by its Old Navy brand in August 2021. It owed the move to a decrease in demand for larger sizes.
It got rid of plus-size sections and started offering all its women’s clothes in a wide range of sizes, from size zero to 30. Suzanne Kapner: Old Navy set out to sort of rectify some of these issues.
Overall, Old Navy had a greater variety of styles and lower prices than Gap did. Both stores had the sales that Gap Inc. is known for, but Old Navy’s sales led to better prices. It’s clear why the store is carrying the brand.
Specifically, Bodequality is being removed from 75 U.S. stores and 15 Canadian stores. However, the majority of Old Navy stores — over 90 percent — will still carry extended sizing.

Most Old Navy clothes are imported from overseas. While researching I couldn’t find any information on their specific factories where their clothes are made or policies. However, it’s reported that It’s reported that Gap Inc.
To Return or Exchange Items in a Store
For Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, and Athleta items, you can return merchandise purchased online to the appropriate store. For example, if you bought an item on Gap.com, you can return it to a Gap retail store, but not to an Old Navy store.
Do plus-size clothes cost more?
Plus-size clothing generally costs more, but “we don’t charge extra for tall versus petite, and tall takes more fabric as well,” Boorady said. “We’re willing to pay the money for it, but it’s a slap in our faces to say, ‘Oh, you’ve got to pay an extra $10 for that,’” she said.

An “okay” environment.
Working here has helped a lot with my social skills and mannerism. I work part time and have been for over a year here. As much as I do enjoy working here, they do not do raises (at least at my location) for those working part time. I get paid the bare minimum (minimum wage – $11.35).
Gap Inc. announced Monday that Horacio “Haio” Barbeito would take over as president and CEO of Old Navy, replacing Green. Barbeito joins Gap Inc. after a 26-year stint at Walmart Canada, where he most recently served as president and CEO.
