Can I use permanent vinyl on clothing?
Premium vinyl is adhesive vinyl, like a sticker, it is either permanent or removable. Thus, it is best used for smooth surfaces but is not advisable to be used on fabrics or any piece of clothing. Premium vinyl may initially adhere to the clothing, but it won’t hold up when washed and may peel off.

Why is my Siser HTV peeling?
Adding more and more pressing time to your design is going to begin to dry out the HTV, which makes it more susceptible to cracking and peeling. For most Siser materials, a 3-5 second press is enough to tack a layer down, but with products in the EasyWeed family you can get away with a 1 second tack!
Adhesive vinyl cannot be used on clothing. This would be like putting a sticker onto your t-shirt and then expecting it to last. Therefore, it’s always best to use HTV for clothing and fabric.
Can regular vinyl be ironed on?
If you have one, then a heat press really is the best way to stick a heat transfer vinyl in place. The vinyl is placed on top of the fabric just the same as if you are ironing it on. But when you lower the plates together the heat press will use a steady and even pressure to firmly seal the vinyl in place.
What’s the difference between HTV and iron on vinyl?
Heat transfer vinyl is, of course, made out of vinyl. However, iron-on transfers include paper and transferrable ink. When you apply heat to your custom HTV design, the entire design transfers onto your desired item. With an iron-on transfer, it’s the ink that sticks to your piece.
