Are tall sizes just longer?
Tall sizes are made to be two inches longer in length than a regular-size, and the sleeves will be one inch longer.

What height is gap tall for?

Although Old Navy doesn’t have a separate big and tall section, the retailer has extended sizing options for a bulk of its men’s clothing. Tops—including polos, T-shirts and casual shirts—come in men’s sizes XXL to XXXL, with tall sizes available from M to XXXL.
So instead of segregating clothes into plus-size sections, they wanted to put them all together. And rather than offering sizes zero to 14 like most retailers, Old Navy decided to offer sizes zero to 30.
Though similar, the Old Navy vs Gap debate is settled with their differences. Old Navy is usually the one with the bigger store square feet, while if you walk into a Gap store, you’ll feel more like you are in a boutique. You can tell some of these differences as soon as you walk into the stores.
Tall is for women 5’10” plus.. long is for ppl like me who need in between regular and tall. Gap, & Old Navy are one of the few store that carry LONG in addition to Tall!
Is tall the same as long for pants?
Pants & jeans are designated as Tall if the pant inseam length is longer than the standard sizes offered by most brands. The most common jean sizes are 32 & 34. A 30-inch inseam falls in the short, less common range while a 36-inch inseam is on the tall side of the less common range of standard sizing.

To make their customers feel better about themselves, Old Navy increases the waist size of their pants. When Abram Sauer tested some common brands of pants a few years back, he found that the Old Navy slacks measured a full 5 inches bigger than the label!
