Does a corset need a busk?

Corsets can also be made without a busk closure, but typically, they are more difficult to get into. It does leave more options for decoration, and are always stiffened in the front with flat bones. To put one of these on, you can either pull them up over your hips, or over your head, then lace up the back.

Turn the cover right side out and press. Then insert the busk loops through the holes in the seam. You may want to pin the busk in place so that it is tight against the seam when you stitch it in. With the zipper foot on the sewing machine, sew the busk into the cover as close as possible to the edge of the busk.
