Why is my innie turning into an outie?
A majority of people around the world have an innie belly button, but outies are incredibly common as well. The cause for concern about an outie belly button is when that outward bulge is actually a medical condition known as an umbilical hernia.
Can you go from innie to outie?
It’s simply a result of how your baby’s umbilical cord met her belly, and there’s nothing you can or should do to change it. There is one instance in which a baby’s outie might settle down on its own: If the baby has a bulging belly button because of an umbilical hernia.
