Is A Cricut Easypress The Same As An Iron?

Much like an iron, the Cricut EasyPress 2 gets hot. But it doesn’t have those little holes that create steam like an iron. Also as demonstrated in the photo above, an iron’s surface doesn’t heat evenly. This makes it a little challenging when using an iron for an iron application.

Can you use a heat press as an iron?

No, a hot iron might ruin your vinyl, cotton or linen setting can do the trick. Because an iron will not match the exact setting of a heat press, best to apply pressure on the design using the middle portion of the iron where the heat of the iron is concentrated.

This is different than adhesive vinyl sheets and rolls, that are sticky from the onset. The adhesive on the vinyl is activated with heat. This vinyl comes in sheets, rolls and packs.
