How long does a tailor take?
If you take a two-piece suit to a professional tailor, you can expect to wait from two to six weeks for it to be returned, depending on what changes you are requesting. It may still take several days of concentrated effort to finish the job for an experienced home sewer.
How many sizes down can a coat be altered?
The rule of thumb is that you can go down two sizes at a maximum, but a suit jacket or blazer only one size too large is a safer option. The problem is always that jackets that are too large can also be too large in the shoulders, which is a more challenging thing to alter.
How do you fit an oversized jacket?
