The point of a dart should point to your bust apex. This is the centre of the fullest part of your bust. A general rule of thumb is that the point should end about 1″ away from the bust apex for someone with a smaller bust and up to 2 and a half inches away from the apex for a fuller bust.

How big should bust darts be?

Do you sew darts in lining?
After all lining and self pieces are cut, always sew all existing darts first. If your garment has style lines or additional seams at the front and back, make sure you stitch them first as well.
Should bust darts be pressed up or down?

Are 26g darts too heavy?

The most any practice day should be is 3.5 hours, which equals a maximum of four full sessions with proper breaks. If you are going for a big practice day then you will need to lengthen the breaks in-between each hour, making the actual practice day last almost 5-6 hours.
Are lighter darts more accurate?
The theory is that heavier darts are easier to throw (less effort) but not as accurate (generality); lighter darts are easier to throw accurately and harder.
How do you measure a blouse dart?
On your paper pattern, find the highest point of the shoulder. This is basically the front neck edge. From the highest point of the shoulder, measure to the level that the bust dart apex/tip is. If it helps, draw a line perpendicular to the CF that intersects with the dart endpoint to establish and even level.
Do you sew a dart on the right or wrong side of the fabric?
Your goal is to sew darts that come to a smooth, tapered point. On the right side of the fabric, the dart point doesn’t end in a bump, dimple, or bubble. Proper stitching, plus pressing, will accomplish this. Make sure the dart legs are accurately marked on the fabric’s wrong side.
Do you add seam allowance to darts?
Before starting to add seam allowance, extend both dart arms, as well as the centre line, by a few centimetres. This will help when you are adding seam allowance to the top of the dart. Mark the seam allowance on the waistband, and then follow the angle of the dart, when you get to the first dart arm.
