There are four dimensions for each Gusseted bag. The first measurement is the width across the opening of the bag. The second measurement is the Depth measured by fully extending the gusset. The third measurement is the length which runs from the bag opening to the base of the bag.

How is side gusset measured?
Another easy way to measure the side gusset is not to open the bag and just measure the tuck of the bag and multiply by two. Thus, for the example provided below, when the bag is unopened than measure the tuck (which is 1.5”) and multiply this by 2 (equaling 3”). Example: 10” x 3” x 12” 2mil.
How is bottom gusset measured?
Place a centimeter scale along its length, and then along its width. The readings on the scale will give you the numbers for length and breadth. An easier method is to look the pouch’s dimensions, which are usually printed on the pouch itself. A pouch of dimensions 4 x 10 x 2 has a bottom gusset measuring two inches.
What does gusset width mean?
Width x Length x Gusset. Width = Across opening of the bag Length = From opening to bottom of the bag (with gusset tucked in) Gusset = Distance across the open face of bottom pleat Gauge = Thickness of bag, measured in mils.
What is gusset depth?
Depth = Gusset (G) x 2. A gusset is a triangle shaped fold on either side of a bag. The gusset is considered the depth of a bag. Bag widths under 18″ do not include. bottom tail in length measurement.
How do you measure the length width and height of a plastic package?
- Measure the width, depth and height of the container to be lined. The depth should be the shorter side.
- To determine the Width (W) of the bag, add the width and depth. Add 2” for a looser fit.
- To determine the Length (L) of the bag, add _ the depth to the height. Add 5” for overhang.
How do you measure the length width and height of a poly bag?
1. Width (W) of the bag = width + depth of the container + 2″ for a looser fit. 2. Length (L) of the bag = height of the container + half of the depth to the height.
How do you calculate volume of a pouch?
FBV = BL * BW * BH
- Where FBV is the Flat Bag Volume (in^3)
- BL is the bag length (in)
- BW is the bag width (in)
- BH is the bag height (in)
What is gusset in leather work?
‘U’ gussets are used for bags which have a one-piece body; that is to say, the bag back and front (and often the flap too) are cut from one piece of leather.
How do you calculate bag size?
For example, if the dimensions of your box are 4Hx5Wx12L(D), then your bag Length =12+4+1=15 and your bag Width =5+4+1=10. You will need a bag at least 15Lx10W.
How is luggage size measured?
Measure the length, height, and depth of your bag, including handles and wheels. Add those three measurements together. The total is your linear measurement, in either centimeters or inches. Measure from the wheels to the top of the handle for height.
What comes first width or height?
What is the standard? What comes first? The Graphics’ industry standard is width by height (width x height). Meaning that when you write your measurements, you write them from your point of view, beginning with the width.
What comes first length or width?
The first number is always the length, the second number is always the width, and the third number is always the height. This order is important to know because it will help you determine the size of the product. The reason measurements are always in this order is because that is how most things are measured.
How do you measure length width and height?
How do you measure a box?
- The first dimension to measure is length. Length is always the longest side of the box that has a flap.
- The next dimension is width. The width side also has a flap, but is always the side shorter than the length.
- Measure the height of the package. Height is the only dimension without a flap.
How do I know my poly bag size?
Measuring for a Re-closable Poly Bag
- Measure Length (L) from the bottom of the bag to the base of the re-closable seal.
- Measure Width (W) of the bag from side to side.
- For rigid items, add ½” to the Width (W) of the bag to allow the item to fit through the opening.
- For thick or bulky items adjust dimensions accordingly.
How do you measure a poly mailer for shipping?
Minimum mailer length equals the length of your product plus it’s depth to it and add around 2 inches. This will give you the minimum length your mailer will need to be. That is Length+Depth+2″= minimum mailer length.
What size plastic bag do I need?
Width (W) of the bag = Circumference divided by 2 + 1″ for looser fit. 3. Length (L) of the bag = container height + container diameter. Add 5″ for overhang.
Is depth the same as length?
Width (Side to Side): The distance or length of the item that’s touching or stretches across the wall. Depth (Back to Front): The distance or length it comes out from the wall and into the room. Height (Bottom to Top): The length starting from the floor and going to the top of the piece.
What is height width and depth?
The length, width, height of an object are the different dimensions expressed in linear units. While length is the longest side of a shape, width is the shorter side, and height is the vertical dimension or depth of the shape.
What does depth mean in bags?
One source shows the depth of the bag to be from front of the bag to back of the bag and call the length the measurement across the bottom length of the bag. Another source calls the depth from the top of the bag to the bottom and call width from the from front of bag to back of bag.
How do you measure a pouch bag?
Width: measured from the outside left-side edge to the right-side edge of the pouch. Height: measured from the outside bottom edge to the very top of the pouch. Bottom Gusset: Two times the dimension from the outside bottom edge of the pouch to the maximum depth of the internal fold.
