With Flat Lay Measurements, we lay the garment on the counter and measure from one side of the garment to the other. We usually only do this measurement where we feel there is a critical fit. Often it is just the bust measurement on a dress.

How to measure a shirt
- Chest is measured along line A.
- Shoulder is measured along line B, from shoulder tip to shoulder tip.
- Sleeve Length is measured from point C to D to E.
- Back Length is measured along line F, on the back of the shirt from the seam at the base of the collar to the bottom hem of the shirt.
How are flat lay shirts measured?
Waist. Lay the shirt flat on a hard surface (same as above). Find the narrowest part of the shirt, which should be about halfway between the armpit and the bottom of the shirt (or around the 5th or 6th buttons). Measure straight across from the left of the shirt to the right of the shirt.
How is flat lay waist measured?
Waist. To gauge your waist measurement, button the jean, lay it on a flat surface and remove any slack across the waistband by tugging both sides. Then measure across from the left midpoint of the waistband to the right midpoint. Measuring twice will produce better results.

- Step#1. Calculate the sum of all ratios. Here size ratio (1:2:2:1), 1+2+2+1 =6.
- Step#2. Divide total order quantity by sum of the ratio (here 6)
