How much water do I add to the dye bottle? Most of our Tulip One-Step Tie-Dye Kit bottles have a black fill line close to the shoulder of the bottle. A few of our bottles do not. In that case, fill with water to the shoulder of the bottle, before it narrows in to the pouring tip.
How long should you leave tulip tie-dye in before rinse?

Rit Dye is the best for this! My only tip is to leave them in the washer, soaking in the dye bath for several hours or even overnight to get the darkest black possible.

Should I wet shirt before tie-dye?
We generally recommend washing your fabric and leaving it damp before tie-dyeing, as the dye has an easier time saturating the fabric when it’s wet. But depending on the technique and the look you want, you can apply dye to dry fabric. Just make sure the fabric has been washed (if it’s new) to remove the sizing.
