Old Navy first started offering a limited plus-size collection in 2004. In 2018, it launched plus-size shops in 75 U.S. stores.
We launched inclusive sizes from 0-28 in stores and 0-30 online in August 2021, and since then we have welcomed millions of new customers to Old Navy and learned a lot about where and how they shop.

Beginning in late August, Old Navy offer sizes 0-28 and XS-4X for all women’s styles in its stores, and up to size 30 online. For American women, shopping for a stylish outfit in size 16 or above can be a hassle.
Old Navy’s clothes are often oversized—and not necessarily in a good way. Old Navy was known for being one of the worst offenders of wonky sizing, with most pieces for both men and women fitting larger than expected based on the size tag.
Why do stores not carry plus sizes?
Many may argue that this is driven solely by fatphobia and bias. And while that is true to an extent, there are other reasons that contribute. “It’s an issue of inventory allocation and distribution,” says creative consultant and brand strategist Nicolette Mason.
Old Navy’s women’s line is offered in 74 sizes and eight lengths, spanning 0-30, XS-XXL and 1x-4x, in regular, petite, tall, short and long. In addition to its women’s plus and petite specialty lines, the brand also offers men’s big and tall, boys husky and slim, and girls plus and slim, the company said.
