What happens if Hermes parcel is overweight?
If any parcel is overweight or oversized then we’ll send the additional costs on to you and keep your parcel until we receive payment.
What happens if my parcel is slightly overweight?
In the event that the parcel weighs more than the weight range you have paid for, the courier will return it to the sender address or issue a surcharge to deliver the overweight package to the recipient.
Does Hermes charge by size or weight?
We base our prices on your parcel’s weight, so please make sure you choose the right weight for your parcel: Postable parcels (letterbox-friendly & under 1kg) Under 1kg.
Is my parcel too big for Hermes?
You can send parcels that weigh up to 15kg and are 120cm long. We also have a maximum volume of 245cm, to calculate this yourself you just need to add together the 2 shortest dimensions and multiply this by 2. Add the length and if the number you get is less than 245 then you’re good to go.
What happens if my package weighs less than shipping label?
You will only receive a refund if the USPS notices this is their automated system. There is no way to receive any other refund once you have used the label.

Can you lie about package weight?
In most cases, NO. The greatest chance the package will be weighed is when it is accepted at the post office. Many postal workers can pick up a package and tell you have much is weighs so if something feels off, they might toss it on the scale. I have asked people at the sorting centers and they don’t weigh them.
How strict is the post office on weight?
USPS rounds up to either the next pound (lb) or ounce (oz). For example, if your package weighs 3 lbs 5 oz, it would be charged at the 4 lb-rate. If you have an item for shipping by First-Class Package Service® that weighs 7.3 oz, it must be charged at the 8 oz-rate.
Does Royal Mail weigh every parcel?
The fact is the royal mail do not possess the equipment to weigh each and every package in it’s system the machinery does not do that.
Does parcel size matter with Hermes?
The size of Hermes parcels is determined by weight, except for packages that fit into the Postable category. Hermes Postable parcels have a maximum parcel size of 35cm long x 23cm wide x 3cm deep with maximum weight up to 1kg. This makes the packages letterbox friendly.

Why did Hermes change to Evri?
Courier giant Hermes has changed its name and invested millions of pounds in pensions for its employees, the company has announced. The rebranding of Hermes to Evri comes in the wake of allegations against the company of bad customer service, parcel mishandling and failing to pay its couriers appropriately.
What items can you not send with Hermes?
There are certain items we can’t carry for the safety of our parcel people.
Prohibited items
- Lithium batteries.
- Fragrances.
- Liquids in general, including solvent- and water-based paint and ink, lighter fluid, gels, creams and oils.
- Drugs – any substance that falls under the UK’s current Misuse of Drugs act.
How do I calculate my parcel size?
How to calculate overall size: Take the two shortest sides of your parcel and sum them. Multiply the sum by 2 and finally add the length. The total is the overall size. Add together the 2 shortest sides: 40 + 50 = 90.
Does shipping weight have to be accurate?
“Billable weight” is usually based on either Actual weight or Volumetric weight (determined by size of box), whichever is higher. So the answer would be yes, actual weight does not really matter if it is less than the volumetric weight.
How can I weigh my package at home?
The simplest way is to take a hanger has two notches and hang two bags to it. Once this is done, hang the hanger to a strong support and you will have your measuring instrument. Put the package in one of the bags and put the reference weights in the other one until it stabilizes. Here you go!
What happens if I put the wrong weight on a shipping label UPS?
If your package is missing dimensions that result in a new dimensional weight being billed, then this will trigger the new UPS shipping charges for corrections. If your package was given to UPS with the incorrect weight, which resulted in the package having to be reweighed or triggering a dimensional adjustment.
