Can you wear normal clothes in the military?

– Recruit Training Command (RTC), the Navy’s enlisted boot camp, has extended the duration of its basic military training (BMT) program from eight to 10 weeks.

Midshipmen are allowed to use their cell phones, but cannot walk and be on the phone when in uniform. During Plebe Summer, they will get three phone calls home for about 20 minutes each time. There will be NO cell phones available at any other time during Plebe Summer.

Naval Academy Haircut Standards – For Males
Hair shall be no longer than four inches and may not touch the ears, collar, extend below eyebrows when headgear is removed, show under front edge of headgear, or interfere with properly wearing military headgear.
During training exercises, service members may sleep fewer than five hours per night. Typically, that five hours is split up into multiple episodes of sleep, usually lasting less than two hours each.

Are phones allowed at basic training?
During the 7.5 weeks while your loved one is at BMT, he/she will be authorized to use his/her cell phone or pay phones to make outgoing calls to family members. Trainees are encouraged to maintain their cell phone service while at BMT and to bring a calling card.
How Long Will I Serve? Enlisted positions typically require an initial service commitment of four years, but positions involving longer-term training may involve five- or six-year obligations.
