Grab a paid or denim jeans and a seam ripper and start gently ripping out the bottom seam from the pants. Do just a little bit at a time, and pull it back to determine if you have a darker denim underneath before undoing the entire hem.

Original hem: This is my preferred method to hem jeans. The original bottom hem is cut off the jean, the needed length is cut off, and the original hem is sewn back on the bottom (the seam is opened, placed over the cut jean bottom, and sewn back in place).
How long should pants be without shoes?
