To keep the garment as waterproof/resistant as possible, only remove the coating in the area you will be decorating. This can be done by raising the area using a Print Perfect Pad or Heat Press Pillow, or even using a pencil or chalk to mark the area.

Can you put HTV on waterproof polyester?

Can you iron on waterproof fabric?
Do NOT use an iron. Waterproof fabrics are usually synthetic, or coated with a wax/oil substance. Ironing your fabric will result in destroyed fabric, iron and ironing board. Instead, firmly press your seams with your fingers.
How do you iron a waterproof jacket?
Starting near the center, iron the jacket in one smooth stroke running parallel to the zipper. Only iron in one direction. Each stroke should go in the same direction. Change directions only when you move to a new section of the jacket.

Can you heat press polyurethane jacket?
Because polyurethane coatings are a kind of plastic coating, removing it may not be possible. Heat pressing polyurethane coated garments using a low temperature application is going to give you the best results without completely melting the coating or material.

How do you sew waterproof fabric?
Most rainwear fabrics have a tight weave and, as with pinning, you don’t want to leave holes in your seams when sewing them. So use a new, sharp, fine needle, around size 8-10, or try a microtex needle.
Can you print on waterproof jacket?
