Can you sew through polyester boning?
Rigilene is an easy-to-use boning made of polyester braided around small plastic rods. It’s a popular choice for costume, dressmaking, and craft projects. Rigilene can be cut with regular scissors, is easily stitched through by machine or by hand, and may be washed or dry cleaned without any change to it’s stiffness.
How do you use sew through boning?
Stitch the casing to the fabric along both edges, creating a channel wide enough for the boning to slide into and narrow enough to keep the boning from twisting in the casing. Machine-stitch across one casing end before inserting the boning. Hand- or machine-stitch the opposite end after the boning is inserted.
