Can you use a sewing machine on a sweater?
If you look at many vintage cardigan patterns, you’ll see that the instructions call for installing buttonholes with a sewing machine. Although I probably wouldn’t use a machine on particularly special or delicate knits, I’ve found that you can use a sewing machine anywhere you need a quick, strong finish.
How long does it take to sew a sweater?
The median time is about 21 hours of knitting. This sits right around the median knitting time for sweaters made out of my favorite yarn weights (DK: 24 hours, Worsted: 21 hours).
