Commanding officers may authorize the optional wear of the Navy certified desert tan or coyote brown rough-side-out leather non-safety boots when wear of safety boots is not required. Sailors must buy these optional brown boots if they are not issued them by their commands as organizational clothing.

If you notice, the boots listed in the base requirements are the regularly worn, black safety boots that most Navy sailors are currently wearing.

In the United States Navy, “shipmate” is a term used by anyone in the Navy to reference anyone else in the Navy. Correct Wear

The best shoes to wear with a navy suit are black, navy or cognac: keep within these tones for a foolproof office look. The most understated option, black will always look sharp with a navy suit. This will always be the most straightforward choice, since you don’t need to consider different shades.
How many sailors can a carrier have?
Although the carrier does not have its full complement of approximately 5,000 sailors, the ship still has about 2,700 sailors working aboard during the overhaul process. About 420 sailors live on board the ship during its overhaul.
Light brown is an acceptable color shoe to wear with navy trousers, though our preference is for a darker brown. Your navy trousers will still look good with these shoes, just make sure your belt or suspenders coordinate well.
Wear while conducting official business, when business attire is appropriate and participating in social events after normal working hours is not permitted. Consumption of alcohol in the NWUs off-base is not permitted. Consumption of alcohol in the NWUs on base is authorized as promulgated by Regional Commanders.
