To care for the poncho, hand wash in warm water and mild soap or detergent using a soft bristle brush. Then rinse it thoroughly, and hang it until completely dry if possible. Do not machine-wash, machine-dry, dry-clean, hot press, or hot-iron coated fabric items.

How do you care for a poncho?

To maximize absorbency, we recommend you soak your poncho in cold water for 12 hours and then hang it to dry in an open space. This allows the cotton fibres to bloom and will condition the material to reach its maximum absorbency. After the initial soak, you should wash your ponchos in cold water.

Can you wash a poncho in the washing machine?

The ponchos are made of durable plastic, but I do not recommend using the washing machine to clean them.

Can you wash a wool poncho in the washing machine?

The best way to maintain your SWEET ALPAGA garment is to wash it by hand in cold water with a mild shampoo or a special wool detergent, without using any fabric softener, which would unnecessarily soften the wool and which could be dangerous for health as well as the environment.

Waterproof jackets should never be washed using ordinary detergent or fabric softener. The chemicals in detergent can break down the composition of the fibres with each wash and strip the fabric of its waterproof coating. A cleaner specifically designed for technical outerwear is recommended.
