NMD stands for Nomad, and “nomad” embodies the spirit of the Adidas NMD as the triumphant trainer celebrates its third birthday in December.

When did Adidas make NMD?

The adidas NMD is a new sneaker style by adidas Originals. It first debuted on December 12th, 2015 for $170. The shoe features sock-like construction with a mix of mesh or Primeknit over Boost cushioning. Currently, it is one of the most popular running shoes to date.

But with this rapid release acceleration and broader availability, the model and its variations went from sold out to sale racks within the span of less than two years. Don’t get us wrong though: the NMD itself is still alive and well – but the hype definitely died down.

Can you wear NMD to gym?

As a basic gym shoe for stationary exercises like squats, presses, and the like, with some treadmill work to follow, the NMD will perform just fine.

Are NMDs waterproof?

What type of socks you can wear with ? No matter what you wear as socks, I suggest non-visible ones (sockets). As minimal as this detail may seem, I would not opt for visible socks in my opinion. You also could wear high socks if you wear a short or a jogger, try and see how do you feel great !

Do NMD R1 have insoles?

There’s no removable insole on the NMD R1; the lasting doubles as the insole. The windows cut into it make it pliable and allow the foot to experience the Boost foam underneath.

We contacted Adidas, whose explanation was that NMD is the line’s global denomination. “It was a product code used during the design and manufacturing process, and the developers liked the name’s tech sound,” the brand stated. “Any association with a Chinese term or phrase would be pure coincidence.”

How can you tell a real NMD?

Check for a unique security number on each shoe.
On the tongue’s underside label, look for a 13-digit security code in the bottom-most right hand corner of the label. On real NMD shoes, your left and right shoes will each have a unique number. If this number is the same on both shoes, your NMDs are fake.

What characters are on the NMD_R1 shoes?

For this NMD_R1, it’s all about celebrating some of the Pixar group’s favorite icons, as characters including Buzz Lightyear and Rex from Toy Story grace the shoe’s blacked-out forefoot midsole plug.

Do jeans go with NMDs?

Dark and Grungy. A look best kept for some of the harder to find NMDs (1 of 500 and R1 Glitch come to mind), but any darker Primeknit NMD will style well with washed and distressed black denim like the Distressed Joe Blow denim.
