You’ll want to select a size that’s smaller than your natural waist* measurement. Our corsets should be up to 4″ smaller than your natural waist for beginners or up to 6″ smaller for more experienced corset wearers (and those with particularly squeezable midsections).

How do you know if your corset is too big?
If your corset is too big you will find that you can close it up (or nearly) without having to really cinch. Remember when your corset is brand new, it’s very stiff and has no “give” whatsoever. If you are able to nearly close completely, it will be too big within a week or so of seasoning.
Is a size 26 waist small?
Despite what many people may say, 26 inches isn’t an average waist size for women. In fact, if you’re a woman with a 26 inch waist, then your waistline is actually 13 inches smaller than normal. So, is a 26 inch waist big? No, a 26″ waist isn’t big at all and is, in fact, very small and slim.
How many inches does a corset take off your waist?
You can expect to loose the first 2-3 inches immediately just from putting on a waist training corset (this won’t be permanent when removing your corset for many months). You can expect to loose a further 1-2 inches within a few week/months. After that things slow down.
How tight should a corset be?
It should be “snug” without any type of pinching, chafing, poking, or other uncomfortable sensations that make you want to rip the corset off with a vengeance. That’s not fun! Pulling too tight on the laces right away can hurt you and damage the corset, too.
How do you know if your corset is too small?
There should be no chance that the corset could begin to slip around your body, or up or down on your body. If your corset pinches or rubs in one particular spot its not fitted properly, if you have trouble breathing in it it’s too small, and if it slips, moves around or doesn’t support your bust, its too big.
How do corsets train your waist?
Waist trainers wrap around your torso and fasten using a lacing system, hook-and-eye clasps, or sticky fasteners. The stiff boning runs vertically to keep the fabric of the waist trainer from bunching up where your waist gets smaller.

You need to measure your natural waist size. You can measure your natural waist size one inch above your belly button. Once measured, always choose a corset 4 inches smaller than your natural waist to achieve the ‘hourglass’ effect.

How do you measure a woman for a corset?
For most corsets, you’ll want to subtract 3–4 inches from your waist size to determine the corset size. For example, if your natural waist is 30 inches, you would subtract 3 inches and look on the sizing chart and that would give you your proper size.
Is an 18 inch waist healthy?

One primary cause of a corset ridge around the bust line is because the corset is too tall for the person wearing it. The top is cut straight around and is generally a good cut, but that edge comes too much up past the bust apex and doesn’t curve back around the curvature of the flesh.
