Waterproof canvas needs cleaned just like any other fabric, so clean the canvas as you see fit with a mild solution that removes buildup without deteriorating the canvas. Spray down the waterproof canvas with a vinegar and water mixture. Rinse the canvas regularly with your hose.

Can canvas be washed in the washing machine?
Wash canvas with Signature Detergent on the normal cycle with hot water to achieve the deepest clean. Wash with like colors and fabrics only. If your canvas item is dirty, dingy, or has mildew, add a capful of All-Purpose Bleach Alternative to the pretreat or wash cycle.
How do you clean waterproof fabric?

A. The simplest way to clean up an oil or acrylic painting on canvas is to use a white cotton cloth soaked in a gentle soapy water; olive oil–based soap works wonders.
