Countries across the globe are now organizing anti-bullying fundraisers of their own, including Japan, New Zealand, China, Panama, and numerous others. In fact, last year alone, people in almost 180 countries shared their support of Pink Shirt Day through social media posts and donations.
Is Blue Anti-bullying?
Throughout October, students and adults alike are encouraged to #BeKind #BlueUp by wearing our blue shirt or their own to make that the month that bullying prevention is heard around the world. We chose blue because in many diverse cultures blue brings peace. The color conveys importance and confidence.

Encourage students to wear orange to take a stand against bullying. Take photos and post them to Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook using #UnityDay2015. Also, get the staff involved in the campaign by asking them to wear an orange ribbons during the day.
Why do we wear pink on Anti-Bullying Day?
Origins of Pink Shirt Day
Pink Shirt Day began in Canada in 2007 when two students took a stand against homophobic bullying after a new Year 10 student was harassed and threatened for wearing pink. These students bought dozens of pink shirts and distributed them to their classmates to wear the next day.

Why is Unity Day orange?
Unity Day was started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center as a signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month. The call to action was to “Make it Orange and Make it End. Unite Against Bullying!” Participants were encouraged to wear orange to show their support for bullying prevention.
