This fall, Levi’s® wants you to go ahead and stretch it out in those 501s®. For the first time in its 143-year history, the 501® and 501® CT jeans are getting the stretch treatment.

Do all Levis have stretch?
Though Levi’s works hard to create finishes resembling worn-in cotton, using tools including lasers, more than 60% of its jeans now use stretch fabric.
Why are Levis 501 so stiff?
And jeans may feel stiffer after they’re washed if any detergent residue remains on the fabric. Levi’s suggests washing its jeans no more than once every 10 wearings or so. Always use cold water to prevent shrinking, and hand wash denim if you can.

Do Levi 501 jeans run small?
One important note on these jeans: they run VERY small. Like I said above, I typically wear a 26 in most other denim brands, and a 27 in the other Levi’s styles I own but I wear a 28 in these. So I would suggest going up two sizes… which seems crazy, but trust me on this one!
How should 501 jeans fit?
The fit sits at the waist and has a straight leg that is regular through the thigh. While I wear wider leg chinos and slim-fit jeans as well, the democratic fit of the 501 feels like home — it’s comfortable and allows my personality to show.
