As part of the initiative, Old Navy offers sizes 0-30 and XS-4X for all women’s styles at price parity, and each store offers all women’s styles in sizes 0-28 merchandised together. Additionally, store mannequins sizes 4, 12 and 18 are placed throughout to enhance the inclusive environment.
We launched inclusive sizes from 0-28 in stores and 0-30 online in August 2021, and since then we have welcomed millions of new customers to Old Navy and learned a lot about where and how they shop.
Jeans, shorts, and pants run small or true to size. In men’s sizes: Tops, including graphic T-shirts, tank tops, and sweaters, are usually true to size or larger. Bottoms vary, but most jeans, shorts, and pants run small.

To make their customers feel better about themselves, Old Navy increases the waist size of their pants. When Abram Sauer tested some common brands of pants a few years back, he found that the Old Navy slacks measured a full 5 inches bigger than the label!
Though similar, the Old Navy vs Gap debate is settled with their differences. Old Navy is usually the one with the bigger store square feet, while if you walk into a Gap store, you’ll feel more like you are in a boutique. You can tell some of these differences as soon as you walk into the stores.
Old Navy Petite line is specifically for women under 5’4”. The garments have narrowed shoulders and higher arm openings (yay for properly covered bras!). Sleeves are shorter, hips and waist are more narrow than the classic, fit, pieces have a shorter rise and there’s a lovely 29.5” inseam for truly petite ladies.
How do I measure my waist for pants?
How to Measure the Waist. To measure the waist on a pair of pants, fully button the pants and lay them down on a flat surface. Then use a soft measuring tape to fully measure the distance from one side of the waistband to the other. Multiply this figure by two, and you’ll have the true measurement of the pant’s waist.
So instead of segregating clothes into plus-size sections, they wanted to put them all together. And rather than offering sizes zero to 14 like most retailers, Old Navy decided to offer sizes zero to 30.
Beginning in late August, Old Navy offer sizes 0-28 and XS-4X for all women’s styles in its stores, and up to size 30 online. For American women, shopping for a stylish outfit in size 16 or above can be a hassle.
Old Navy will continue to carry sizes 0-30 and XS-4X online, but dozens of stores will soon phase out the inclusive collection. The 2021 initiative, dubbed Bodequality, combined Old Navy’s separate plus line with its core product offering, offering the same styles at the same prices across its size range.
Old Navy skinnies have quite a bit of stretch. If the jeans fit you comfortably, with the right amount of ease–they’re too big. These skinnies are going to stretch out at least one size, and you don’t want them to be saggy-baggy after you’ve worn them for an hour. Go get yourself the next size down.

What is the difference between skinny and super skinny jeans?
Supper skinny vs Skinny
Super skinny jeans are a type of skinny jean. The “super” in super skinny means the pants hug your body even closer than a normal skinny jean. The biggest difference is in the leg opening. The leg opening on most skinny jeans leaves some room between your ankle and the pant.

Overall, Old Navy had a greater variety of styles and lower prices than Gap did. Both stores had the sales that Gap Inc. is known for, but Old Navy’s sales led to better prices. It’s clear why the store is carrying the brand.
For one, both brands are known for displaying their logo on sweatshirts and clothing items, a logo that looks quite different. But quite possibly the biggest difference is the prices — Old Navy is often less expensive than its Gap counterpart.
