Old Navy
Tops—including polos, T-shirts and casual shirts—come in men’s sizes XXL to XXXL, with tall sizes available from M to XXXL. Many of the bottoms—like its joggers and jeans—come in sizes up to XXXL or a waist size of 54.
Old Navy’s men’s tall jeans and pants are sized up to 48-inch waist and 36 inseams.
As part of the initiative, Old Navy offers sizes 0-30 and XS-4X for all women’s styles at price parity, and each store offers all women’s styles in sizes 0-28 merchandised together.
Old Navy has produced Fashion Nirvana! Old Navy Tall line is made specifically for women over 5’10”. There is an extra half-inch in the shoulders, longer sleeves, longer length in tops, lower waist position for tops and dresses, a nice longer rise, a full 36” inseam, and proper shaping to fit a woman’s figure.
Are clothing sizes getting bigger?
The Boston Globe recently featured an article on this very topic and found that as Americans have increased in size (along with our crazy obsession with being thin) clothing sizes have decreased. So what was once a size 14 now is a size 8, a size 8 is a size, etc.
Old Navy’s clothes are often oversized—and not necessarily in a good way. Old Navy was known for being one of the worst offenders of wonky sizing, with most pieces for both men and women fitting larger than expected based on the size tag.
Though similar, the Old Navy vs Gap debate is settled with their differences. Old Navy is usually the one with the bigger store square feet, while if you walk into a Gap store, you’ll feel more like you are in a boutique. You can tell some of these differences as soon as you walk into the stores.
Are tall sizes just longer?
Tall sizes are made to be two inches longer in length than a regular-size, and the sleeves will be one inch longer.
To make their customers feel better about themselves, Old Navy increases the waist size of their pants. When Abram Sauer tested some common brands of pants a few years back, he found that the Old Navy slacks measured a full 5 inches bigger than the label!
What size does Lane Bryant go up to?
Lane Bryant will start extending their size range (currently 12-28) beginning this February! This inclusive rollout will start with LIVI Active. After active and loungewear, you will see additional items increasing their ranges, in sizes up to a 38/40!
What size is tall for a woman?
Who is considered tall? Tall women’s sizes are typically made for women who are 5’8” and taller and who have an inseam that is 32” or longer.

On average, the arm length of a men’s tall dress shirt will be about 1½” longer than that of a men’s regular shirt.

The average size of an American woman has historically been reported as a size 14. The clothing industry somewhat took this into account and adjusted its sizes. Though, most labels didn’t even do that; the majority of clothing lines still sell up to size 12 and that’s it.
Old Navy to scale back inclusive sizing in stores, less than a year after launch. On its May 26 earnings call, Gap Inc. announced its decision to scale back the groundbreaking accessibility of inclusive sizes launched by its Old Navy brand in August 2021. It owed the move to a decrease in demand for larger sizes.
