Can I use baking soda instead of soda ash for tie-dye?
To aid in this process, many dyers use a fixer solution that involves soda ash to make the chemical process faster. If soda ash is unavailable, you can use baking soda to create a fixer solution, but you need to adjust the soda/water ratio and add heat to achieve the same results.
Does Tulip one step dye need soda ash?

Can I use salt instead of soda ash for tie dying?
Traditional tie-dyeing methods involve using soda ash to help adhere the fabric dye onto the fibers. However, most people do not have access to soda ash. One solution is to use salt instead of soda ash to encourage the dye to bond to the fibers.
How long should you leave tulip tie-dye in before rinse?
What is this? Tie-dye needs to sit for at least 8 hours, but ideally up to 24 hours, before rinsing. Keep the dyed items wet and in a warm place.
How long is Tulip dye last once mixed?
How long can I keep a dye once it has been mixed with water? Do not add water to dye until you are prepared to apply it. Apply dye within 24 hours after mixing. Dye left unapplied after 24 hours will begin to lose concentration and will result in noticeably weaker color intensity.

Dylon permanent dye is a fiber reactive dye, meaning it reacts chemically with cellulose found in cotton, rayon and silk to create a permanent bond. It won’t fade and the colors will be more intense than rit dye. It doesn’t need heat to activate.
How do you get Tulip dye off your hands?
To start, create a paste by mixing a coin-sized amount of baking soda with water. Diluted baking soda boasts mild abrasive qualities and it’s less harsh on sensitive skin. Then rub the mixture over your dye-stained hands, and scrub them thoroughly under running water. The tie-dye paint should be lifted from your skin.
