The body should fit comfortably with a little extra material; if it rolls or billows by the hem it is too large, and likewise if the seams of your shirt show through it is too tight.

A sweater should end somewhere between just past your belt buckle and no more than 2 inches past that. In a lot of my other fit guides, I usually differentiate the length based on your height, but for a sweater it doesn’t matter. It should hit between those two points for everyone. This goes for all sweaters.

There is nothing wrong with getting your sweater just a little bigger than what you are usually measured for. If you take care of your sweater, and avoid exposing it to extreme conditions (especially heat), your sweater should retain its shape for the most part.

For chilly spring days or cooler summer evenings, tuck your oversized knitwear into a pair of high-waisted shorts.

  1. Check the material.
  2. If your fabric is wool or a wool and cotton blend, wash it with hot water.
  3. Place it in the dryer on medium heat.
  4. When the sweater is the right size, change the dryer settings to something more gentle or place it out to air dry the rest of the way.

How do you measure a ladies sweater sleeve?

Sleeve length: Measure from the shoulder to the wrist. Shoulder to Shoulder:Measure this length from one shoulder to another. Chest: Measure around the fullest part, place the tape close under the arms and make sure the tape is flat across the back.

Can a short woman wear a long sweater?

Answer: Your suit jacket/blazer sleeve should end right above the top of your wrist bone (or the hinge of your wrist). However, in order to show the proper amount of dress shirt cuff based on the correct suit jacket sleeve length, your shirt sleeve length must obviously fit correctly.
