How do you needle felt a sweater?
Pull out a thin section of roving large enough to cover the hole and place it underneath. Use a felting needle to stab/felt the sweater into the felting pad around the edges of the hole. Repeatedly stab the felt into the pad. Felt the center of the hole as well.
What fabrics can you needle felt onto?
You can needle felt onto all sorts of fabric. Wool is a natural choice, but denim or other heavy cotton works well too.

Do you need 100% wool to felt?

How do you felt wool in a washing machine?
Felting happens in the washing machine in a full cycle at 40 or 60 degrees Celsius (check label of yarn, as some wools felt at 40 degrees, some at 60 degrees). You need to use standard washing powder (not wool wash) and run a full standard or cotton cycle (NOT woollens/minimum iron or delicates cycle).

Can you wash felted wool?
Wool felt often continues to shrink once it’s on the garment so it is best to wash as gently as possible: by hand in cool water or dry clean. COLOR BLEEDING: Some colors may bleed even with hand washing in cool water. For best results, we recommend dry cleaning or spot cleaning to avoid color bleeding and shrinkage.
